  This gem was cut in Sri Lanka from Dana's rough in 2001. These more saturated body colored tourmaline were special cut to minimize the darkness a more western could would have created. The material is the Moro Redondo mine material noted for their bi-color pink and blue green crystals. They are dark but not black; Dana is just selling them at rough and cutting costs on these gems. He has had them forever and made some jewelry from them as they have the rick tone that some people really like.
