  This lovely Jadeite hand carved pendant is from my private collection i bought from one carver in 1996. I sent it to AGL and they say it is natural jadeite but has some clear polymers( basically paraffin wax to make it shine more ) on it; when asking around they did that to increase the luster on the piece as it would have been too fragile to polish with pressure. It hurts nothing and it is not a coloring agent; just a polishing and stabilizing agent. AGL grades it as B jade because of the polymer... You can see on the back and through the jadeite it is not dyed as you can see the lighter colors and the off white which is original to the natural jade which would have been masked by dye. They make it sound worse than it is... Basic paraffin wax to make it have a higher luster.
