  This material was cut and heated in Sri Lanka in 2001 from my rough I got in 2000. I bought a parcel of this material way back then and I sent it to my friend in Sri Lanka. He said the material would be prettier if it was heated so I said go ahead and do it. I lost about half of the material in the heating process but what remained was solid and the heating drastically improved the color and removed all the material tha had fractures. It is no glass but basic heat. This gem looks like a piece of candy; vivid pink with red streaks running through it and it is solid. Very nice luster and it will make a very fine ring for a woman or man and a good size...
