  These gems were cut and heated in Sri Lanka in 2001 from my facet rough I bought in 2000. Many of the pieces of rough did not make it through the heating but the ones that did like these are nice and worthy of any precious metal. They do have inclusions but the body color is a rich red and they are basic heat only. I would not gamble another 2 grand on this material in the rough as I lost about 1/2 when they were heated. But with the prices now for natural heated ruby well it was still not a bad investment as I have used several in nice pieces of jewelry and really debated if I wanted to part with these as well but I can not keep everything and my jewelry designing is limited between cutting and farming and polishing Nihonto..
