Notes:
This is a lively, colorful piece. Good play of color with flashes of fiery red and orange. Opal was discovered at this location in 1930, and the town developed out of the scattered miners' camps which established in the area. An Andamooka Opal Fields Post Office was not opened until 13 January 1947 and was renamed Andamooka in 1990. This opal was cut by Dana from 8,3 carat rough he got from Murry Wilis in MaGill South Australia back in 2000. This was Adamooka mine material; solid crystal material with good medium pin fire. It would make a lovely pendant..
