  This gem was cut by me from a 5.3 carat crystal section that I mined at the Little Ray Mine in Burnsville NC back in 2001. The other one that just sold is a little nicer, cleaner and better blue than this one; but when mining this stuff you are very happy for whatever you get. Lots of very hard work and climbing to get anything... I will cut some of the Grassy Creek Mine material later that came from the private collection of the now deceased Terry Ledford. He was a good man to me and shared many minerals he collected and I cut many gems for him from his mining. But that is another story for another day. This gem is still lovely and will fit an 8 x 6 mount with no issues. No treatments.
