  These gems were mined and cut by me. When I was the president of the local gem and mineral club we used to go prospecting at least 6 times a year. There was a location near my home in Rockingham county, NC that had an amethyst pocket. We went several times on this private property with permission until they sold it. Both of these gems came from one crystal. Even though the material was mostly very light and had loads of inclusions it was fun to get a piece that would make a clean gem. I saw the rough a few weeks ago in the amethyst rough box and decided to see if I could cut something from it. Well here they are and they are a very close matched pair. No treatments. enjoy !
