  Well this gem was re-cut by me from a 1.26 carat lifeless step cut pavilion gem. I bought this gem from my sapphire contact in Sri Lanka. Well needless to say the price is 3 times higher than 3 years ago.. Sad but true and this man lives there and is very well respected in the gem culture over there. I had to tweak the culet and that is all as the culet is off-set but does not show face up. Oh the color and brilliance is outstanding but the price.. I only marked it up 100 dollars from cost... It is basic heat only .. Everyone knows I try my best to get the best at the best price but with the new taxes in Sri Lanka and having to pay VAT tax on ANY rough brought into that country I fear for their gem cutting survival. Sad times folks. So if you want a sapphire look around and see what is happening . Things are getting crazy all over the globe.
