  Well all I can say is I will not buy this rough any longer... The friend had a mine in Idaho and said he had lovely purple garnets; called dinner bucket garnets; well me being the guy that wants to cut everything i bought a small parcel.. Well this is what comes from this mine; very clean but very saturated gems in anything over 3 carats.. I tried all I could aside from giving it a window to let some light in the gem. The cut is very well executed but i knew when on the dop this was going to be a saturated gem and it is.. Price of the gem is the rough cost and 20 dollars for me to cut it. So if you like dark gems; this one is for you... Totally natural and well cut. Sorry I learned a long time ago I cannot make a silk purse from a sows ear.. Should fit a 4 prong 12 x 10 or 13 x 11 but 12 x 10 is more standard... Cut from 13.83 carat rough.. 1.80 RI
