  This gem was cut by me from my rough i got over 20 years ago. This is the figured or mottled pattern sugilite as I was told by Dave Cordry; the head Financier of the Wessel's mine back in the late 1970's. I have various degrees of gel and collectable patterns and colors. I am just getting into cutting this old stock so I always was told never start a new cutting venture with your best material and i paid attention. This is not junk grade by any means but it is not the gel either. Same with my chrysoprase, lapis, gem silica, etc. I will be adding higher end material as my confidence grown in getting my polish and working of the material down to a science. No treatment with any of this material.
