  This is a huge one !!! This is how i did opal rough when i got it from Murray Willis in Magil South Australia back in 2000. This was a 273 carat piece of rough with potch on 3 sides of the piece. I took it in and removed all the potch and set it in the safe. Well I do that to see if it will craze before I finish cutting it as there is nothing worse than to spend a couple of thousand on an opal and a year later it has cracks all through it. So I will not do that to my clients. So I wait; well on this one I forgot and found it about 2 months ago... I have marked the only areas with a craze to it and it is minimal !!! A good cutter will take his or her 15 thousandths saw blade and lose hardly NOTHING... You will still get a 80 carat gem and a few in the 10+ carat range... This is SOLID crystal opal... Find one now even close and it will cost you thousands !!! IF you can find one... I have so much opal I will never cut I have to turn some of this loose as none in my family seems to have the desire to cut :( !!!
