  This gem was cut by me many years ago from 16.1 carat rough I got from Murray Wilis from South Australia. He used to come with his kids to visit me here in the states when they did Tucson. I bought this material in 2000. This is the classic stark white base material that the older generation considered standard Australian opal. Very very hard to capture the pinfire in the camera lens, but the pinfire has green, orange, yellow, and red. Classic Opal.. No treatments and no potch at all as this is a very clean opal with no crazing etc. as it has been in the safe already cut for over 18 years and no crazing at all.
