  This gem was cut like this in Sri Lanka in 2002. I had a lot of this rough material I got from Nigeria, it starts with a clear topaz, then irradiated, then heated. The color of brown after irradiation determines the color of blue when heated. I had many cut like this and they sold heavy in the late 1990's and early 2000. I have done many for pearl enhancers, earrings, etc. They are very lovely and add a little bling to those lovely pearls..
