Notes:
This is an early edo period Iron pierced Tsuba. Edo period from 1603 to 1868... I bought fine Nihonto furniture like tsuba, fuchi kashira, menuki , etc. before I started to polish as I could afford them and they are just very cool. I have gone to many shows and carried my furniture to get them evaluated and taught what to look for etc. by Japanese masters that made their entire life studying Nihonto furniture... Not to mention the 1000 $ plus of books I have on these items. This is a katana or tachi size tsuba; a little rust but nothing that a little clove oil can not take care of... size is 8.5 x 8.3 cm diameter and 4.3 mm thick 3cm x 1 cm wide blade opening , nice pierce work as it looks like a bow theme not signed...

Japan
