  This gem was cut by me and the rough came from the Helena area of Montana in the old tailings of the sapphire deposits. It has an RI of 1.76 and has all the character traits of the pyrope family. It is saturated gem so it will be dark in low light. No treatment in any way; It was 6.3 carats in the alluvial rough when I bought it back in 2001.
