Well this was one I experimented with as back in the day I studied all I could about the treatment of minerals from all over the world and how they did what to them. This large crystal section of amethyst was very saturated but I was told by the rough dealer from that country I could heat it to go to a lovely orange red they called Madera citrine. So being me I had a go with it as it was too dark as it was. I heated 3 pieces and this one was the only one I really liked as the others had too much brown. It had a small inclusion on one side that popped when I heated it. There is just a very tiny remnant of that inclusion at the edge under the girdle which is very hard to see. I tried to put it in the photos but still hard to spot- 6 o'clock first photo. Just a neat trick I had to do as the material was cheap back then. Just heat...
