  I bought a parcel of ruby rough in 2000 from Mozambique. Some were cleaner than others but still had silk and what looked like carbon inclusions. I cut a few into faceted gems but sent the rest to Sri Lanka to be cut into cabochon. My friend said they would look nicer if I had them heat there. So I did and it did improve the clarity but I lost several in the heating process. I have had these set back since 2001. I am keeping a couple of pairs for some jewelry I am designing but some I will sell. These in my opinion will make excellent earrings or a ring and a pendant as they are basic heat only and NO glass...
