  This gem came from the inventory of a jewelry store from the late 1940's. A good friend of mine and avid colored gem collector bought out the entire inventory many years ago. She allowed me to buy some of the old stock from her. This is a unheated Sri Lanka Star/catseye sapphire. It is quiet unusual as it displays a star and also a catseye. The catseye is more pronounced than the star but both are present. Quiet an unusual gem. Some of the larger ones are at GIA now getting their paperwork but I know this material is untreated... Really a neat find that is being passed along to others. This would make a really nice right hand ring gem for male or female..
