  This gem was re-cut by me from a 2.23 carat gem bought in 2000. This was the color most jewelry stores wanted back then as I sold wholesale only to the trade when I first started... It is not the color I bought for myself; but when you are in the trade you buy what they want and not what you want.. I have just a few of these left. They are all very clean and a deep blue; basic heat only.. All calibrated for easy setting for the trade as that is how they wanted their gems.. I had to cut a step bottom to let any of the blue come to the surface as with a brilliant cut these gems of this saturation would have been black... They used to use the trade name "midnight blue" as their selling platform. To me just a dark blue; but very clean.. So if you like saturated colors this is the gem for you at a steal of a price...
